Overview - SUBFRAME (A5 From 09/2007)

    • Only on the Cabriolet
    • Removing and installing. Refer to DIAGONAL BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
    • The stamped edge on the diagonal brace near the bolt holes must be on the bolt head side.
    • -Arrow- on connecting link points in driving direction

    • On vehicles with hydraulic power steering 90 Nm +135°
    • On vehicles with electromechanical power steering: 90 Nm +90°
    • Always replace if removed

  27. Subframe Crossbrace
    • Removing and Installing, Coupe. Refer to SUBFRAME CROSSBRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A4 AND A5 COUPE 
    • Removing and installing, Cabriolet. Refer to SUBFRAME CROSSBRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A5 CABRIOLET 
    • The crossbrace on the Cabriolet is shown in the illustration. The crossbrace on the Coupe is slightly different. Refer to -item  14- "SUBFRAME, A5 THROUGH 08/2007" (See Figure).
      CAUTION:

      The suspension components could be damaged.

      If the subframe, the steering gear or the subframe crossbrace are not installed correctly, do not rest the vehicle on its wheels.

      The vehicle must not be supported on the subframe or the subframe crossbrace (for example using a floor jack).

    • The opening on the rubber bushing must be facing up when installing the subframe.
    • There must not be any grease on the stabilizer bar and rubber bushing when installing them.

    • Installed on vehicles with -item  3- "Subframe Shield" (See Fig 1).

    • 9 Nm
    • Installed on vehicles with -item  3- "Subframe Shield" (See Fig 1).

    • Installed on vehicles with electromechanical power steering, but not on the Cabriolet
  43. Shield
    • Installed on vehicles with electromechanical power steering, but not on the Cabriolet
