Shift lever alignment, checking

- The shift lever must rest in the 3rd/4th gear gate when the transmission is in neutral.
- Depress clutch.
- Check that all gears can be engaged.
- The shift lever must not make contact with cover for center console when selecting gears.
- The shift lever should return by itself from the 5th/reverse gear gate into the 3rd/4th gear gate.
- It should only be possible to engage reverse gear from neutral when shift lever is in 3rd/4th gear gate.
- It must be impossible to change from 5th gear directly into reverse gear.
NOTE:
If only 5th and reverse gear cannot be engaged, the 5th and reverse gear locking module must be checked and replaced. Refer to
