Power Take-Off Drive Chain: Installing

- Tightening specifications, refer to POWER TAKE-OFF DRIVE CHAIN OVERVIEW .
- Secure crankshaft -1- in TDC position using T40069.
-- Mount the chain tensioner together with the chain and the balance shaft sprocket.
-- Lock the balance shaft in the TDC position with the T40116.
- The slots in the balance shaft sprocket must be at the middle position in relation to the threaded holes of the balance shaft. If necessary, adjust chain by one tooth.
-- Tighten the chain tensioner bolts.
-- Install the chain sprocket bolts -1- loosely.
- It must still be possible to rotate the chain sprocket on the balance shaft and it must not tip.
-- Remove the T40071 to release the chain tensioner.
-- Press against the chain tensioner guide rail -arrow- with a screwdriver and simultaneously fasten the bolts -1- for the sprocket.
-- Remove the T40116 from the balance shaft.
Install in reverse order of removal paying attention to the following:
-- Install timing chain lower cover. Refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER .
-- Install the locking bolt TDC mark crankshaft. Refer to Figure.
