Starter, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 4.2L FSI Engine, 265 Kw, Automatic Transmission Ag8: Installing:

-- Position the starter in its installed position.

-- Install the upper starter bolt first and tighten it approximately 2 turns.

It must be possible to pivot starter lightly.

-- Tighten the B+ wire.

-- Connect the terminal 50 connector to the starter and lock it.

Install in reverse order of removal, Observing The Following:

NOTE:

All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

-- Install the generator. Refer to GENERATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 4.2L FSI, 265 KW .

-- Install the right coolant pipe. Refer to COOLANT PIPES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [For engine(s) CATA] .

-- Install the pre-catalytic converter. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [For engine(s) CGRA] .

-- Fill the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, FILLING [For engine(s) CATA] .

-- Connect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
