General Information

Replacing Battery 

Vehicles with the Start/Stop System only have an AGM battery instead of the typical lead battery.

Always. Refer to the Parts Information for the correct replacement part designation. The components of the Stop/Start System does not have a special markings and look the same as the other components from the outside.

The new battery data must be entered into the data bus On Board Diagnostics (OBD) interface control module after replacing the battery. Adapt the battery data. Refer to BATTERY DATA, ADAPTING .

CAUTION:
  • Always follow the procedure described in service informationwhen connecting the battery. The battery cut-out will be deactivated and damage to the vehicle electrical equipment may occur if the connecting sequence is not followed exactly. Refer to BATTERY .
  • Observe notes for threaded connections of battery terminals. Refer to BATTERY POST/TERMINAL .
