Exhaust System, Installing Without Tension

Align the exhaust system when cold.
Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER .

-- Loosen the bolts on the front clamping sleeves.

-- Loosen the threaded connections on the repair clamps, if equipped.

-- Press exhaust system forward -arrow- under the following tensions are adjusted on the individual retaining loops:

Front retaining loop: dimension -a- = 2 mm.

Center retaining loop: dimension -a- = 15 mm.

Rear retaining loop: dimension -a- = 12 mm.

-- Hold exhaust system in this position and tighten clamping sleeve bolts evenly to 35 Nm.

NOTE:

A second technician is needed to align the exhaust system with repair sleeves between front and rear mufflers.

If all adjustment dimensions are not achieved, loosen the affected bracket from body and shift accordingly.
