Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Spring Clip Pliers:VAS6499
- Shop Crane - Drip Tray:VAS6208
- Hose extension diameter 20 mm
- 20 mm diameter blind plug (quantity: 2)
- Compressed air gun
Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.
- The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.
- Cover the coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and then open it slowly to release the pressure.
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING .
-- Remove the left front wheel. Refer to appropriate service information .
-- Remove the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- Open the clamps and remove the coolant hoses -A through D-.
-- Attach a suitable hose -1- to the line -C- to lengthen it and place the one end in the Shop Crane - Drip Tray:VAS6208 .
-- Apply maximum 1 bar (14.5 psi) compress air across the line -D- using a compressed air gun -2- until the circuit is completely empty.
-- Install the blind plug -3- as illustrated, attach a suitable hose -1- to the line -B- to lengthen it and place the one end in the Shop Crane - Drip Tray:VAS6208 .
-- Apply maximum 1 bar (14.5 psi) compress air across the line -A- using a compressed air gun -2- until the circuit is completely empty.
-- Connect the coolant hoses and the clamps.
