Brake Shoes, Removing And Installing: Removing

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required 

NOTE:

When removing, mark the brake shoes that will be used again. Re-install in the same position, otherwise the air gap is changed and the braking effect will be uneven!

-- Remove the rear wheels.

Connect the :Vehicle Diagnostic Tester  and select the function. Refer to , CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS .

-- While doing so, select the electro-mechanical parking brake and then the "Move parking brake motors into installation position" function.

-- Move the parking brake motors into the installation position using the :Vehicle Diagnostic Tester  .

NOTE:

Disconnect the connector from the parking brake motor as a precaution. If the brake rotor/brake drum is removed, this may cause problems if, for example, the ignition key is removed and then the parking brake motor closes the parking brake.

-- Release and remove the connector -1- from the parking brake motor.

-- Remove brake caliper from wheel bearing housing.

-- Remove brake caliper and secure with wire so that the weight of the brake caliper does not burden or damage the brake hose.

-- Remove the fitting bolt -1-.

-- Remove the brake rotor/brake drum -2-.

-- Disengage the tension spring -1- and the return spring -2-.

-- Remove the spring pins -3 and 4- with the pressure springs and remove the brake shoes.
