Air Gap, Adjusting: Notes
-- Remove the rear wheels.
The brake rotors must turn freely. Push the brake pads back slightly if needed.
Connect the :Vehicle Diagnostic Tester and select the function. Refer to , CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS .
-- While doing so, select the electro-mechanical parking brake and then the "Adjusting air gap" function.
Air gap OK; example display on the :Vehicle Diagnostic Tester :

If the air gap is not within the tolerance, then perform the follow procedure:
-- Remove the sealing plug -arrow- for the parking brake adjusting nut.
-- Insert a screwdriver through the brake rotor hole and turn the adjusting nut -A- against the resistance of the tension spring -B-.
Turning the adjusting nut by one tooth corresponds to approximately 0.15 mm.
-- Calculate the difference between the specified value and actual value and then divide the result by 0.15 mm. Then obtain the exact number of teeth which the adjusting nut must be turned in the appropriate direction (tighter or looser).
