Parking Brake Motor, Removing And Installing: Removing
Do not disconnect the connectors from the parking brake motors.
- The electro-mechanical parking brake is not activated.
Connect the :Vehicle Diagnostic Tester and select the function. Refer to , CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS .
-- While doing so, select the electro-mechanical parking brake and then the "Move parking brake motors into installation position" function.
-- Move the parking brake motors into the installation position using the :Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
If this is not possible, the parking brake adjusting nut must be turned back.
-- Remove the rear wheel.
-- Remove the brake caliper and secure with wire so that the weight of the brake caliper does not stress or damage the brake hose.
-- Remove the brake rotor/brake drum.
Before removing, mark the brake shoes that will be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise braking effect will be uneven.
-- Remove the brake shoes. Refer to BRAKE SHOES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
If the parking brake motor should be reused, it must be secured in the brake shoe mounts with a cable tie to prevent it from turning.
-- Secure the parking brake motor mounts with a cable tie -2- to prevent turning.
-- Remove the brake carrier plate.
-- Release and remove the connector -1- from the parking brake motor.
-- Remove the wire for the parking brake motor from the clip and remove the clip.
-- Remove both internal multi-point bolts -arrows- for the parking brake motor -1-.
-- Remove the parking brake motor.
