Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527-, Removing And Installing: Notes

The Airbag Spiral Spring/Return Spring with Slip Ring -J527- and the Steering Angle Sensor -F138- are integrated in the Steering Column Electronics Control Module -G85-.

NOTE:

Code the new Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- after installing it. Refer to STEERING COLUMN ELECTRONICS CONTROL MODULE -J527-, CODING .

If the steering column switch is faulty, then perform an output diagnostic test for the Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527-.

The Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- can be checked via the output diagnostic test.

The Airbag Spiral Spring/Return Spring with Slip Ring -J527- and the Steering Angle Sensor -F138- are integrated in the Steering Column Electronics Control Module -G85-.

-- Remove the steering column switch module. Refer to STEERING COLUMN SWITCH MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

Steering must be in center position (wheels in straight ahead position) when removing and installing coil connector with slip ring.

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Open the hooks -arrows- and remove the Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- -2- from the steering column switch module -3-.

-- Unlock and disconnect the connectors from the Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- -3-.

-- Position a screwdriver, as illustrated, on the hooks -2 and 4- and carefully unlock the connectors -1 and 5- in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Remove the Steering Column Electronics Control Module -J527- from the steering column switch module.
