Ignition Coils: Notes

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required 

• Ignition Coil Puller:T40039 

Remove the ignition coils from cylinder bank 1:

-- Remove air filter housing lower section. Refer to LOWER SECTION OF THE AIR FILTER .

-- Remove bolts -1- and -2-.

-- Pull ignition coils approximately 30 mm out of spark plug shaft using Ignition Coil Puller:T40039  .

-- Release electrical connectors and remove connectors simultaneously from ignition coils.

Remove the ignition coils from cylinder bank 2:

-- Remove the coolant expansion tank -arrow- and disconnect the connector on the Engine Coolant Level Warning Switch -F66- on the bottom of the expansion tank.

-- Move the coolant reservoir to the side with hoses -1 and 3- connected.

-- Remove the bolts -2- and -3-.

-- Pull ignition coils approximately 30 mm out of spark plug shaft using Ignition Coil Puller:T40039  .

-- Release electrical connectors and remove connectors simultaneously from ignition coils.
