High Pressure Pump: Removing

NOTE:
The following description represents removal and installation of left high pressure pump.
WARNING:
- Fuel system is under high pressure! Before opening high pressure components of the fuel injection system, pressure must be relieved to residual pressure. Refer to BEFORE OPENING HIGH PRESSURE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM .
- Then wrap a clean rag around the connection and relieve residual pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
- Observe safety precautions when disconnecting the battery. Refer to BATTERY .
-- With ignition switched off, disconnect Battery Ground (GND) cable.
-- Remove engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER .
-- Disconnect electrical connectors on Low Fuel Pressure Sensor -G410- -1- and on Fuel Metering Valve 2 -N402- -2-.

NOTE:
The Low Fuel Pressure Sensor -G410- Is Installed Only In The Left High Pressure Pump (Cylinder Bank 2)
-- Remove both fuel line union nuts.
-- Remove bolts -3-.
NOTE:
Do Not Change The Angles Of The High Pressure Lines.
-- Carefully remove high pressure pump.
-- Remove roller tappet from cylinder head.
