-- Observe safety precautions. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
-- Observe rules for cleanliness. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
Risk Of Destroying Electrical Components When Battery Is Disconnected. Observe Proper Measures When Disconnecting Battery.
-- Disconnect battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
Risk Of Explosion Due To Electrostatic Charge.
- Secure Fuel Extractor VAS 5190 Ground Wire To An Empty Place On The Body.
-- Remove Cone Piece -2- From Shaft Piece -1- On Fuel Extracting Unit:VAS 5190 .
-- Attach Insulating Tape -Arrow- To Hose At A Distance -A- = 1, 300 mm From End Of Suction Hose.
-- Remove Cover From Fuel Filler Tube.
-- Install Shaft Piece -1- For Fuel Extracting Unit:VAS 5190 On Fuel Filler Tube.
-- Slide Suction Hose Into Fuel Tank Far Enough So Mark Applied Earlier -Arrow- Is Aligned With Shaft Piece.
-- Empty Fuel Tank Through Fuel Filler Tube.
-- Remove Extracting Hose Carefully.
Proceed The Same Way If The Extracting Unit Available Does Not Have A Shaft Piece.
In This Case, Apply A Mark -Arrow- Using Insulating Tape On Hose At Length -A- = 1, 235 mm From End Of Suction Hose -1-. The Suction Hose Is Inserted Correctly When The Marking Applied Earlier Is Opposite The Fuel Filler Tube Lip.
Coat Hose With A Thin Layer Of Engine Oil If It Is Difficult To Insert. Never Use Lubricants Containing Silicon.
