Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing And Installing, Fwd Vehicles: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to OVERVIEW - WHEEL BEARING HOUSING, WHEEL BEARING UNIT AND COIL SPRING SHOCK ABSORBER, VEHICLES WITH FRONT WHEEL DRIVE .

NOTE:

Bonded rubber bushings have a limited range of motion. Only tighten suspension screws when vehicle is in curb weight or control position.

For lifting the wheel bearing into curb weight position, vehicles with steel suspension, refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING .

-- Install wheel bearing housing.

-- Insert the bolt -1- with the spacer tube -2- and install the nut -3- loosely.

CAUTION:

Do not tighten the threaded connection using the nut -3-.

-- Tighten the bolt -1-.

-- Install the coil spring, refer to COIL SPRING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the brake caliper and brake rotor, refer to BRAKE ROTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING and BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the tie rod, refer to TIE ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the upper transverse link, refer to UPPER TRANSVERSE LINK, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the lower transverse link, refer to LOWER TRANSVERSE LINK, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the rear speed sensor, refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - ABS/ESP , see -item 1- and -item 2- .

-- Install the rear wheel, wheel bolt tightening specification: 140 Nm. Refer to AUDI SQ5 TYPE 8R, MY 2012 - 2015 .

-- To determine if an axle alignment is required, see Table, refer to WHEN A VEHICLE ALIGNMENT IS NECESSARY .
