Side airbag (electric seat), assembly overview

1 - Side airbag drivers/front passengers
- Removing
- Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
- Remove seat → Front seat, assembly overview .
- Attach fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 to engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.
- Attach front seat to fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.
- Remove backrest cover panel → Backrest cover panel, assembly overview .
- Release sealing collar - 4 -.
- Remove wiring harness - 5 - upward.
- Remove nuts - 2 - (2x) of side airbag - 1 -.
- Pry off metal tab - 3 -.
- Remove side airbag - 1 -.
- Remove clip - 6 - and carefully remove wiring harness - 5 -.
- Installing
- Installation is in reverse order of removal.
- Make sure wiring harness - 5 - runs between seat frame and plastic guide - 7 - and that cables are not subject to strain.
- Fasten clip - 6 -.
- Switch ignition on.
CAUTION:
There must be no one in the vehicle when the battery is being connected.
- Connect battery Ground (GND) strap.

- Tightening torque 5 Nm
- Always replace

NOTE:
- After connecting the battery observe the necessary measures. →

- If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after assembly, use vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 A to interrogate, erase and then again interrogate DTC memory.
