Sealing Flange, Removing And Installing, Transmission Side: Installing
- Refer to the parts information for the correct silicone sealant.
Note The Expiration Date Of The Silicone Sealant.
The Sealing Flange Must Be Installed Within Five Minutes After The Application Of Silicone Sealant.
-- Remove any sealant residue on the cylinder block using a flat blade scraper.
-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: approximately 2 mm).
-- Apply the silicone sealant on the clean sealing surface of the new cover as illustrated.
- Sealant bead thickness: 2 to 3 mm.
The Sealing Flange Must Be Installed Within Five Minutes After The Silicone Sealant Has Been Applied.
The Sealant Bead May Not Be Thicker Than Specified, Otherwise Excess Sealant Could Enter The Oil Pan And Clog The Oil Intake Pipe Screen.
-- Position the Seal Installer - Sealing Flange Guide Sleeve:T20097 on the crankshaft journal -A-.
-- Slide the sealing flange over the Seal Installer - Sealing Flange Guide Sleeve:T20097 on the crankshaft pin and tighten the bolts. Tightening sequence:
- After installing the sealing flange, the sealant must harden for approximately 30 minutes. Only afterward may the engine oil be replenished.
Further Installation Is Performed In Reverse Order Of Removal, While Noting The Following:
-- Install the dual mass flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
