Cylinder Block
Cylinder Head Gasket
- Replacing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Cylinder head gasket identification. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD GASKET IDENTIFICATION
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
Cylinder Head
- Removing and installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Only set the removed cylinder head down on a foam pad. Otherwise the glow plugs can be damaged.
- Check for distortion. Refer to CHECKING CYLINDER HEAD FOR DISTORTION
- Must not be reworked
- Make sure both alignment sleeves for centering the cylinder head on the cylinder block are actually there before installing.
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
Fitted Pin
- For the camshaft housing
Bolt
- Loosening sequence. Refer to Removing
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD - TIGHTENING SPECIFICATION AND SEQUENCE
- Always replace after removing
Bolt
- 20 Nm
Engine Lifting Eye
Spacer Ring
- Always replace if damaged
O-ring
- Always replace after removing
- Coat with coolant
Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-
- Removing and installing. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Double Bolt
- Tightening specification -item 4- OVERVIEW - COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
Fitted Pin
- For the camshaft housing
Connecting Piece
- For the coolant hoses
Bolt
- 10 Nm
Seal
- Always replace after removing
Fitted Pin
- For intake manifold with charge air cooler
Alignment Sleeves
