Pistons, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Coat the contact surfaces on the bearing shells with oil.

-- Install the piston and piston ring compressor.

Installed Position: 

• Piston. Refer to PISTON INSTALLED LOCATION AND ALLOCATION, PISTON TO CYLINDER .
• Bearing shells in the connecting rod. Refer to BEARING SHELL INSTALLATION POSITION IN THE CONNECTING RODS .

-- Install the connecting rod bearing cap according to the marking.

-- Install the oil pump. Refer to OIL PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
