Balance Shaft Module With Oil Pump: Notes
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Connecting Pin T10027
Removing
-- Removing oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the upper toothed belt guard.
Components could be destroyed by the toothed belt jump off.
- Only rotate the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation.
-- Turn the crankshaft by the toothed belt crankshaft sprocket bolt until the camshaft sprocket is at "TDC".
- The marking on the camshaft sprocket must align with the arrow on the toothed belt guard -top arrow-.
- The notch on the vibration damper must align with the arrow on the toothed belt guard -bottom arrow-.
-- Remove the guard; if necessary, release the tabs through the openings -arrows- with a small screwdriver.
-- Loosening the bolt for the oil pump chain sprocket, while doing this counter hold the crankshaft by the toothed belt sprocket bolt.
-- Release the tension on the chain rail with a screwdriver -arrow- and secure it with the 3 mm socket wrench -1-.
-- Remove the oil pump chain tensioner and disengage the drive chain at the balance shaft drive.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2- and the oil baffle.
Ignore -arrows-.
-- Loosen the bolts -arrows- from the outside to the inside.
-- Remove the bolts and the balance shaft module.
Installing
- Tightening specifications, refer to BALANCE SHAFT MODULE WITH OIL PUMP OVERVIEW , Figure
Replace bolts which have been tightened to torque.
Replace balance shaft assembly bolt gasket BALANCE SHAFT MODULE WITH OIL PUMP OVERVIEW .
