Left Flange Shaft Seal

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Procedure

NOTE:

Shaft seal can be replaced with transmission installed.

General repair instructions, refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .

Observe cleanliness rules when working on transmissions, refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .

-- Remove the left flange shaft. Refer to LEFT FLANGE SHAFT .

-- Pry out shaft seal with assembly lever.

-- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the new shaft seal with oil.

-- Fill the space between the sealing- and dust lip -arrow- half way with sealing grease; sealing grease.

-- Drive in shaft seal as far as stop using 3305, do not cant while doing this.

-- Install the left flange shaft. Refer to LEFT FLANGE SHAFT .

-- Transmission fluid level, checking and filling. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, CHECKING AND FILLING .
