Seal Between Bevel Box And Transmission

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Oil Collecting and Extracting Device V.A.G 1782
• Pulling Hook T20143
• Thrust Piece T10243

Procedure 

-- Remove the bevel gear. Refer to vehicles with 2.0 TFSI engine BEVEL BOX or vehicles with 3.2L MPI engine BEVEL BOX .

-- Place the V.A.G 1782 under the transmission.

-- Pry out the sealing ring on transmission using the T20143/1 or T20143/2.

-- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the new shaft seal with oil.

-- Fill the space between the sealing- and dust lip -arrow- half way with sealing grease; sealing grease.

-- Carefully install the sealing ring all the way using the T10243.

-- Install the bevel box. Refer to vehicles with 2.0L TFSI engine BEVEL BOX or vehicles with 3.2L MPI engine BEVEL BOX .

-- Transmission fluid level, checking and filling, refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, CHECKING AND FILLING .
