Lock washer
- Secures the impact member and must not be loosened to remove the lock carrier.
Bolt
- 30 Nm
Side impact bar
- Must not be removed from bumper bracket with removing lock carrier.
Bolt
- 6 Nm
Lock carrier
NOTE:
Water cooler coolant must not be drained for removal and installation.

A/C system refrigerant circuit on condenser must not be opened.
- Removing
  -- Remove the front bumper:
- Audi TT FRONT BUMPER
- Audi TT RS FRONT BUMPER
  -- Remove headlight. Refer to [For transmission(s) 02E] [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CETA, CCTA, CEPB, CDMA] Removal and Installation
  
  -- Disconnect the control cable for the front lid lock from the coupling:
- Audi TT: FRONT HOOD LOCK RELEASE CABLE
- Audi TT RS: HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE MOUNT
  -- Remove bolts -2- on longitudinal member.
  
  NOTE:
  The impact member is secured to the lock carrier with clamping washers -1- and is not removed.
  
  -- Remove bolts -6- on fender and bolts -4-.
  
  -- Remove lock carrier toward front.
- Installation: in reverse order.

- 23 Nm
Frame
- Removing, refer to NOISE INSULATION FRAME
