Left Flange Shaft Seal, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removing

-- Remove left rear Drive Axle. Refer to Rear Suspension .

-- Remove the flange shaft seal using Slide Hammer SetVW 771 and Slide Hammer Set - HookVW 771/37.

Installing - Rear Final Drive 0BN

-- Coat outer edge of the seal with axle oil.

-- Drive on in new shaft seal as far as stop.

Installing - Rear Final Drive 0BP

-- Coat outer edge of the seal with axle oil.

-- Drive on in new shaft seal as far as stop.

Continuation for All:

-- Fill the space between the sealing- and dust lip half way with Sealing GreaseG 052 128 A1.

-- Install the left rear Drive Axle. Refer to Rear Suspension .

-- Check transmission fluid level in the rear final drive. Refer to REAR FINAL DRIVE AXLE OIL LEVEL, CHECKING .
