Outer Three-Point Seat Belt (2ND Row), Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:
Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to PYROTECHNIC, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM COMPONENTS, SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND TESTING PROCEDURES .
-- Engage hook -arrow A- from belt roller/belt tensioner -1- in body cut-out -arrow B-.
-- Tighten belt roller/belt tensioner screw to the specification.
If three-point seat belt is being removed for accident repairs, replace screw.
-- Install the belt relay on the seat belt height adjuster.
- If belt relay is being removed for accident repairs, replace screw.
- Belt relay must swing by itself in carrier direction after tightening screw.
Vehicles with Pyrotechnic Belt Tensioners
Before handling belt tensioner units (for example, disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.
-- Place connector -1- on belt tensioner -3-.
-- Lock connector -1- with connector lock -2-.
Make sure the connectors are installed correctly and are secure.
Make sure the wires do not get caught.
Vehicles with Air Duct in C-Pillar
-- Install air duct -A-.
-- Tighten screw -arrow- at belt guide.
Procedure for All Vehicles
-- Install the C-pillar trim. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM OVERVIEW .
-- Guide seat belt -3- through opening -arrow A- in wheel housing trim -2-.
-- Secure the belt anchor/seat belt to the body using the bolt -1-. The anchor depression -arrow B- must rest on the anti-twist mechanism -arrow C-
-- Install wheel housing trim -2-. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER OVERVIEW .
Tightening specification. Refer to OUTER THREE-POINT SEAT BELT (2ND ROW) OVERVIEW .
