Battery Interrupt Igniter -N253-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery with the ignition on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the front screws on the console on the left front seat. Pivot left front seat with console back. Refer to DRIVER SEAT BRACKET OVERVIEW .

-- Remove screw -1- and remove air duct -2-.

-- Remove cover over Battery Interrupt Igniter -N253-.

WARNING:

Before handling airbag units (for example, disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

Remove connector -1- in direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove nuts -3-.

-- Remove Battery Interrupt Igniter -N253- -2- from bracket.
