Crankshaft Seal, Transmission Side

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Assembly ToolT10122
• Pulling HookT20143
• Scissor Lift TableVAS 6131 A

Procedure 

• Engine-transmission assembly removed and separated on the VAS 6131 A. Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .

-- Remove drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE .

-- Pry the shaft seal out with the T20143/2.

-- Clean the running and sealing surfaces.

-- Position the T10122/1 on the T10122/2 and slide the shaft seal -A- onto the pulling sleeve.

-- Remove assembly device.

-- Position the T10122/2 with shaft seal -1- on the crankshaft.

-- Press the shaft seal in evenly and flush, using T10122/3.

The rest of the installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

-- Install drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE .
