Oil Pan Lower Section, Removing And Installing: Installation
Replace the bolts for the oil pan lower part.
Danger of eye injury.
- Wear protective eyewear.
-- Using rotating plastic brush, remove any remaining sealant from lower part of oil pan and upper part.
-- Clean the sealing surfaces; they must be free of oil and grease.
Note the expiration date of the sealing compound.
-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: approximately 1.5 mm).
The lubrication system could be plugged with excess sealant.
- Do not apply sealant bead thicker than indicated.
-- Apply a sealant bead -arrow- to the clean sealing surface on the lower part of the oil pan as shown in illustration.
- Sealant bead thickness: 2.0 mm
Install the lower section of the oil pan within five minutes of applying the sealant.
-- Position the lower section of the oil pan and tighten the bolts, refer to Figure and Chart.
-- Install the engine carrier. Refer to SUBFRAME OVERVIEW .
-- Install the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the refrigerant lines. Refer to COMPRESSOR REFRIGERANT LINES, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Install the front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINERS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine mount. Refer to SUBFRAME OVERVIEW .
-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the left coolant pipe. Refer to LEFT COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fill engine oil and check the oil level. Refer to Maintenance Booklet 406.
