Overview - Torque Converter

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the torque converter drive plate or the ATF pump.

Check installation dimension of torque converter before Installation transmission. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, INSTALLING - Installed Dimension.

Danger of leaks on the torque converter seal.

The covers -items 3 through 8- prevent dust and dirt from getting into the torque converter bell housing. Install the covers if necessary. Refer to -item 3- (Covers).

Torque Converter
- Draining. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, DRAINING .
- Checking. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, CHECKING .
- Installing. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, INSTALLING .
- Check the installation dimension for the torque converter before Installation the transmission. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, INSTALLING - Installed Dimension.
Shaft Seal
- For the torque converter.
- Removing and installing. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER SHAFT SEAL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ,
-3 through 8-
Covers
- When installing the transmission, install in the openings provided.
- Prevent dust and dirt from getting into the torque converter bell housing and the torque converter seal from leaking.
Torque Converter Bolts (-item 9-)
- Tightening specification: 85 Nm
- Replace
- For attaching the drive plate to the torque converter.
