Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure

-- Remove the frame for the selector lever boot -A- -arrows-.

-- Move the selector lever into "S".

NOTE:

The clamping screw is only accessible when the selector lever is in "S".

Loosen locking screw approximately 1 turn - do not remove completely.

-- Loosen selector lever cable clamping screw approximately 1 turn using Socket And KeyT40031.

-- Carefully move the selector lever forwards and backwards slightly without shifting to a different selector lever position.

NOTE:

This loosens the selector lever cable.

-- Switch ignition on.

The Two Following Conditions Must be Fulfilled

Conditions are Not Fulfilled

-- Tighten the clamping screw -arrow- for the selector lever cable in this position using the Socket And KeyT40031.

-- Check the DTC memory and correct any faults using Guided Fault Finding  Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Check the adjustment on the Multifunction Transmission Range Switch -F125-. Refer to Multifunction Transmission Range Switch -F125-, ADJUSTING .

-- After that, adjust the selector lever cable again. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .

Conditions are Fulfilled

NOTE:

Do not move the selector lever forward or backward while tightening the clamping screw otherwise the adjustment will be incorrect.

-- Tighten the bolt -arrow- on the selector lever cable using the Socket And KeyT40031.

Rest of installation is performed in reverse order of removal.

-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .
