Fan Shroud, Removing And Installing

Removal

Proceed as follows:

-- Turn off the ignition.

-- Pull cover over radiator -arrows-.

Vehicles with Automatic Transmission:

Fig 2: Identifying Air Guide Hose -1-, Bolts -2- And -4-, And Electrical Connector -3-

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Loosen bolt -2- and remove bolt -4-.

-- Lay aside Brake System Vacuum Pump -V192-.

NOTE:

Ignore -Item 1-.

All Vehicles:

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

NOTE:

Ignore -arrow- and Hose Clamps - Up To 40mm3093.

-- Remove bolt -1- and move front coolant pipe back.

NOTE:

Ignore -arrow- and Hose Clamps - Up To 40mm3093.

WARNING:

Danger of personal injury due to the coolant fan turning on by itself.

  • Disconnect electrical connectors before working on fan shroud.

-- If present, remove bolts -1, 4, 5, 6- on fan shroud.

-- Disconnect electrical connectors -2 and 3- and free up electrical wiring.

-- Press locking tabs at left and right on fan shroud -arrow- and at the same time, lift fan shroud out of engine compartment.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Install front coolant pipe, refer to FRONT COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with Automatic Transmission:

-- Install the Brake System Vacuum Pump -V192-, refer to Brake System Vacuum Pump -V192-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
