Front Coolant Pipe, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removal

Proceed as follows:

-- On a vehicle with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode, refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .

WARNING:

Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

  • The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.
  • Reduce pressure by covering coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and carefully opening.

-- Open the coolant reservoir cap.

-- Clamp off the coolant hoses with Hose Clamps - Up To 40mm3093.

NOTE:

Ignore -Item 1 and arrow-.

-- Remove the bolt and the front noise insulation -1-.

-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip TrayVAS6208 under the engine.

-- Clamp off the coolant hose with Hose Clamps - Up To 40mm3093 and remove the hose from the front coolant pipe -arrow-.

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Remove upper coolant hose from front coolant pipe -arrow-.

-- Remove bolt -1- and remove front coolant pipe from fan shroud.

NOTE:

Ignore Hose Clamps - Up To 40mm3093.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Fill the coolant, refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- On a vehicle with air suspension, deactivate vehicle lift mode, refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .
