Oil Pump

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing

-- Remove the lower oil pan section. Refer to LOWER OIL PAN .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the oil baffle.

-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2-.

-- Hold the oil pump drive shaft -3- with the VAS 6226 and push it against the spring force.

-- Remove the oil pump.

NOTE:

The oil pump drive shaft remains installed.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

For the correct tightening specifications, refer to OIL PUMP AND LOWER OIL PAN OVERVIEW .

NOTE:

Replace the oil baffle bolts.

-- Make sure the 2 dowel sleeves are in the oil pump. If they are not, install them.

-- Install lower oil pan INSTALLING .

-- Fill engine oil and check oil level. Refer to Maintenance Procedures .
