Left Exhaust Manifold

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing

-- Remove the left intermediate pipe. Refer to LEFT INTERMEDIATE PIPE .

NOTE:

Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping power steering fluid.

Vehicles Built through 05.10:

-- Disconnect the power steering pump hydraulic hose and the 3094.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and remove the power steering fluid hose.

NOTE:

Ignore -2-.

-- Remove the banjo bolt -1- and bolt -2- and lay the power steering fluid line to the side.

Vehicles Built from 06.10:

NOTE:

Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping power steering fluid.

-- Clamp off the power steering pump hydraulic hose -1- with a 3094.

-- Remove the bolts -2- and move the hydraulic line to the rear.

All Vehicles:

-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the VAS 6122.

-- Remove nuts -arrows- and remove the exhaust manifold.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace the seals, O-rings and the self-locking nuts.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model.

-- Install the power steering fluid line. Refer to Description and Operation .

-- Install the left intermediate pipe. Refer to LEFT INTERMEDIATE PIPE .
