Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION Auxiliary Cooler
Removing
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- on the preliminary catalytic converter strap.
-- Carefully pull the engine cover -arrows- off the 4 bolts one after the other.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2- and then remove the heat shield from the turbocharger.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.
-- Remove the preliminary catalytic converter from the turbocharger and push it toward the rear.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2-.
Ignore -3 and 4-.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2- and remove the rear coolant pipe from the exhaust gas recirculation auxiliary cooler.
Ignore -3 and 4-.
-- Disconnect the vacuum hose -1- from the vacuum actuator and remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler switch-over valve 2 -N381- -3- from the bracket.
-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the left rear coolant pipe from the exhaust gas recirculation auxiliary cooler.
-- Remove the screws -arrows- and remove the exhaust gas recirculation auxiliary cooler.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Tightening specifications, refer to EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION OVERVIEW .
Replace the seals and O-rings.
-- Install the left rear coolant pipe to the exhaust gas recirculation auxiliary cooler. Refer to LEFT REAR COOLANT PIPE ON EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION AUXILIARY COOLER .
-- Install the rear coolant pipes. Refer to REAR COOLANT PIPE .
-- Install primary catalytic converter. Refer to PRIMARY CATALYTIC CONVERTER .
-- Fill with coolant COOLING SYSTEM, DRAINING AND FILLING => Filling .
