Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Charging Device for Haldex Coupling 2 VAS 6291 or Charging Device for Haldex Coupling 2 VAS 6291A
- Oil Filling Adapter VAS 6291/2 or Oil Filling Adapter VAS 6291/3
- Drip Tray
- The rear final drive must be in the installed position.
- The vehicle must be horizontal.
- Gear oil plug overview, refer to GEAR OIL DRAIN AND INSPECTION PLUGS OVERVIEW, 0BE, 0BF
- The plug for gear oil is installed and tightened. Tightening specification -item 16- in FINAL DRIVE 0BE, 0BF OVERVIEW .
- Oil specifications.
-- Use Charging Device for the Haldex Coupling 2 VAS 6291 to add oil.
-- Lift the vehicle.
-- Remove the gear oil inspection plug -1-.
-- Install the Oil Filling Adapter VAS 6291/1 or Oil Filling Adapter VAS 6291/2 -1-.
-- Attach the elbow -A- to the adapter -B-.
-- Route the hose over the right drive axle.
- The hose must not hang through. It must be routed over the right rear wheel.
-- Lower the vehicle.
-- Close the valve -arrow-.
-- Attach the oil fluid container -A- to the Charging Device for Haldex Coupling 2 VAS 6291.
-- Open the valve -arrow- and hold the fluid container as illustrated.
The rear final drive will not be filled.
- When at the correct filling of the rear final drive oil drips between the adapter -B- and the final drive housing.
-- Lift the vehicle.
-- If oil leaks from the adapter -B-, set down the oil reservoir (for example, on a tool trolley).
A portion of the excess oil runs back into the oil container.
-- If no more oil runs back, remove the Charging Device for Haldex Coupling 2 VAS 6291.
- The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up to the lower edge of the filler hole.
-- If necessary fill the gear oil again.
-- Install the new plug -1- and tighten. Tightening specification: -item 22- in FINAL DRIVE 0BE, 0BF OVERVIEW .
