Cylinder Head Cover Overview

NOTE:
The cylinder head cover for cylinder bank 2 (left) is shown in the illustration.
- Cylinder Head Cover Gasket
- Replace if damaged or leaking.
- Cylinder Head Cover
- Removing and Installing: left, refer to LEFT CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING , right refer to RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Bolt
- With seal.
- Replace if the seal is damaged or leaking.
- Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 2.
- O-Ring
- Replace
- Oil Filler Neck
- To remove, lift the tab, turn the oil filler neck to the left and remove it.
- Seal
- Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking.
- Cover
- Nut
- Tightening specification. Refer to Special Tools .
- High Pressure Line
- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to FUEL SUPPLY, INJECTION SYSTEM AND CHARGING SYSTEM CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- Mark the order of the injectors.
- Do not change the shape of the line.
- Installation. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE LINES, INSTALLING .
- Fuel Return Line
- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to FUEL SUPPLY, INJECTION SYSTEM AND CHARGING SYSTEM CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- O-Ring
- Replace
- Bolt
- Tightening specification. Refer to Special Tools .
- Tension Clamp
- Bolt
- 5 Nm
- Bracket
- For the connectors.
- Injector
- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to FUEL SUPPLY, INJECTION SYSTEM AND CHARGING SYSTEM CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- Removing and Installing. Refer to INJECTOR .
- Bolt
- 5 Nm
- Bracket
- For the electrical wiring harness.
- O-Ring
- Replace
- Copper Ring
- Replace
-- Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts -arrows- in a diagonal sequence in stages to 9 Nm.
