High Pressure Lines, Installing

Torque Wrench 1331 5-50NmVAG1331
Torque Wrench 1331 Insert - Reversible RatchetVAG1331/1
Torque Wrench 1331 Insert - Open Jaw - 17mmVAG1331/6
Union Nut SocketT40055

Procedure

NOTE:

When re-installing pay attention to the marking for the specific cylinder.

Inspect the sealing cones for deformation, cracks, damage, scratches or corrosion.

The bores for the lines must not be deformed, narrowed or damaged. Do not use corroded lines again.

Do not use corroded lines again.

-- Remove any dirt from the sealing cone on the fuel rail.

-- Clean the fuel line and line connection with detergent and dry it with compressed air.

-- Coat the threads on the union nut with fuel.

-- Tighten the high pressure line union nuts by hand, making sure they are seated without tension.

Tightening specification 25 Nm

-- Use Torque Wrench 1331 5-50NmVAG1331 with Torque Wrench 1331 Insert - Reversible RatchetVAG1331/1 and a 17 mm Union Nut SocketT40055 to tighten the high pressure lines.

-- Use Torque Wrench 1331 5-50NmVAG1331 with Torque Wrench 1331 Insert - Open Jaw - 17mmVAG1331/6 to tighten the high pressure lines.

-- Perform a leak test on the fuel system. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM BLEEDING AND CHECKING FOR LEAKS .
