High Pressure Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Replace the gaskets and seals.
The fuel return lines must not be bent, damaged or plugged.
If the toothed belt sprocket needs to be replaced, remove the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket using the Puller - PulleyT40064.
Stop the high pressure pump toothed belt using the High Pressure Pump Sprocket Locking ToolT40135 before installing the toothed belt. (Do not allow the toothed belt to swing!).
Align the 2 TDC points with each other in order correctly adjust the high pressure pump toothed belt.

- Tightening specifications: high pressure pump overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - HIGH PRESSURE PUMP
-- Install the high pressure pump toothed belt. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- High pressure lines, installing. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE LINES, INSTALLING .
-- Install the upper part of the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- The high pressure pump must be filled with fuel before starting the engine for the first time. Do not let the high pressure pump run dry. First fuel filling. Refer to FUEL TANK, FILLING WITH FUEL AFTER INSTALLING HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
- Letting the high pressure pump run dry will damage it.
Perform an adaptation after replacing the high pressure pump and/or the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-. Use a Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
