Coolant Pump, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removal

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the ribbed belt from the tensioner. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Tilt the toothed belt guard forward -arrows- and disengage the pins on the underside of the guard.

NOTE:

The toothed belt guard is shown with the intake manifold upper section removed.

-- Using a Wrench - Pin Type3212 as a counterholder, remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the coolant pump ribbed belt pulley.

-- Remove the bolts and remove the coolant pump -arrow-.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Clean the sealing surface.

-- Tighten the coolant pump bolts, refer to Figure.

-- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill the coolant, refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
