Suction Jet Pump, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 3.0L (V6)/4.2L (V8) Engines From 06/2010: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to OVERVIEW - FUEL DELIVERY UNIT/SUCTION JETION PUMP/FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, VEHICLES WITH 3.0L (V6)/4.2L (V8) ENGINES FROM 06/2010 .

NOTE:

Replace seals.

Verify that the suction jet pump is securely engaged.

-- Push the suction jet pump fuel lines through the left opening on the fuel tank into the right fuel tank chamber.

-- Insert the suction jet pump into guide and press it down until it clicks into place.

-- Before installing, check the routing of the wires on the Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169-.

-- The wire must be clipped into the tabs -arrows- as illustrated.

-- Insert the Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169- into the guide until it clicks into place.

-- Connect electrical connector -2- underneath the left locking flange -3-.

-- Install the new sealing ring -1- for the left locking flange dry.

-- Bring the left locking flange into the installation position:

The tab -2- on left locking flange faces toward the arrow marking and must lie between tabs -1 and 3- on fuel tank.

-- Tighten the locking ring for the left locking flange with the WrenchT10202.

-- Connect the connector -arrow- at left locking flange.

-- Push the suction jet line -2- onto the suction jet pump until it clicks into place.

-- Push the supply line -1- onto the fuel delivery unit until it clicks into place.

-- Push the return line -1- onto the fuel delivery unit until it clicks into place.

-- Push the supply line -1- onto the fuel delivery unit arrow until it clicks into place.

-- Push the fuel line -5- on until it clicks into place and slide it into the fuel tank.

-- Push the connectors -2 and 3- onto the bottom of the locking flange until they click into place.

-- Install the new locking flange seal -1-. The seal must be dry.

-- Insert the locking flange -4- into the fuel tank.

-- Bring the right locking flange into the installation position:

Tab -2- on right locking flange faces toward arrow marking and must lie between tabs -1 and 3- on fuel tank.

-- Tighten the locking ring for the right locking flange with the WrenchT10202.

-- Connect the fuel return line -1- and the fuel supply line -2- to the right locking flange.

-- Connect the connectors -3 and 4- on the right locking flange.

-- Install the locking flange covers, refer to Figure.

-- Insert the frame into the floor covering, refer to the Parts Catalog and Interior Trim .

-- Install the single seat or the 2/3 seat bench seat cushion in the second row of seats, refer to Seat Frames .

-- After installing fuel delivery unit, fill vehicle with at least 5 liters of fuel.
