Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure

NOTE:

Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping power steering fluid.

-- Remove the bolts -2- and the hydraulic pipe.

-- Close open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set VAS6122.

NOTE:

Ignore item -1-.

-- Remove the bolt on the -arrow- on the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor wire bracket.

-- Remove the left and right engine mount nuts -arrow-.

NOTE:

Engine carrier remains in installation location.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Disconnect the vacuum hose -2- and free it up from the engine support.

NOTE:

Ignore items -1 and 4-.

-- Attach the Lift Arm Extension VAS6101 to the Shop Crane VAS6100.

-- Engage the Lifting Tackle 3033 on the engine lifting eyes and on the shop crane as shown in the illustration.

-- Tension engine slightly with shop crane, do not raise.

-- Remove the Scissor Lift Table - Q7 Set - Articulated Joint Support VAS6131/13-7 from the engine.

-- Raise engine from engine carrier.

-- If equipped, remove the nuts -arrows- and the connector bracket from the left engine support.

-- Remove the right and left bolts -arrows- and then remove the engine support.

NOTE:

The left engine support is shown in the illustration.

-- Secure the engine to the Engine and Gearbox Bracket VAS6095A using the Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket VAS6095/1-11 and tighten to 40 Nm as illustrated.
