Right Cylinder Head Cover, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specification. Refer to Figure.

NOTE:

Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.

Replace the O-rings.

Replace the cylinder head seal if it is damaged.

-- Clean the sealing surfaces; they must be free of oil and grease.

NOTE:

Pay attention to the expiration date of the sealant.

-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: about 2 mm).

-- Apply a sealant bead -arrows- to both the cylinder head transition and the timing chain guard lower section.

Sealant bead thickness: approximately 2 mm

-- Tighten cylinder head cover bolts. Refer to Figure.

-- Install the connection for the turbocharger. Refer to OVERVIEW - TURBOCHARGER .

-- Install the fuel rail on the right side and the fuel injectors. Refer to FUEL RAIL, HIGH PRESSURE LINES, FUEL INJECTORS OVERVIEW .

-- Perform a leak test on the fuel system. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM, PERFORMING LEAK TEST .
