Rear Final Drive, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Always replace the O-ring -1- and the locking ring -2- on the final drive flange. .

-- Attach the Drive Axle to the final drive flange so that the color marking, applied at the factory, aligns with the color marking that was made earlier -arrow-.

-- Pull on the pins -1- to connect the Driveshaft -2- while not tilting Driveshaft. If the Driveshaft does not slide onto the pins on its own, use a suitable tool e.g. a block of wood -3- to do so. Pull the Drive Axle to make sure it secure.

-- Install the rear Drive Axle. Refer to Rear Suspension .

-- Check transmission fluid level in the rear final drive. Refer to REAR FINAL DRIVE AXLE OIL LEVEL, CHECKING .

-- Install the rear section of the exhaust system. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
