Rear Final Drive Axle Oil Level, Checking

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit VAG 1782
NOTE:
General Repair Instructions. Refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .
When checking oil level, vehicle must be on a level surface.
Procedure
-- Position the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit VAG 1782 under the rear final drive.
-- Remove the transmission fluid filler plug -arrow- with a hex socket wrench.
- The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up to the lower edge of the filler hole.
-- Fill the gear oil if necessary. .
-- Install the plug -arrow- with a new gasket.
