Data Link Connector (DLC)

Location: The Data Link Connector (DLC) for Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 is located in drivers side foot well.

The following listed components can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" with vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.

Shift lock solenoid N110

Location: The selector lever lock solenoid is located in the shift mechanism and can only be replaced together with the shift mechanism function unit → Shift mechanism function unit, manual release, assembly overview .

Mechatronics unit, Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 , Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch F125 , Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor G182 and Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor G195

Location: The mechatronics unit is bolted to underside of transmission housing and is covered by transmission oil pan.

The mechatronics unit incorporates the hydraulic control, Transmission Control Module (TCM), Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch and the sensors and actuators as a complete synchronized unit. Included are:

Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217
Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch F125
Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor G182
Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor G195

The "Mechatronics" unit can only be replaced as a complete unit.

NOTE:

All components mentioned are tested by On Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Internal transmission wiring harness

Location: The wiring harness - A - with connector - C - is attached to the mechatronics unit - B -.

Transmission Range (TR) Display Y6

Location: Integrated into instrument cluster

NOTE:

Transmission Range (TR) Display Y6 can only be replaced as a set with the instrument cluster.

Kick Down Switch F8

Location: Kick Down Switch F8 is located on vehicle floor.

NOTE:

Kick Down Switch F8 is tested by On Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Kick Down Switch F8 , removing and installing → 20 - FUEL SUPPLY .

Tiptronic Switch F189

Location: Tiptronic Switch F189 is integrated into circuit board of symbol insert, which is located in shift mechanism cover.
