D-Pillar Trim, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

NOTE:

If trim clamps remain in body mounting points, remove these and insert them in trim.

Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

-- Remove locking compound residue from threaded screw holes. You can use a thread cutter to do so.

If threaded holes are not cleaned, there is the danger that new screws could seize up during installation and shear off when removed again.

Vehicles with a Seat Belt on the D-Pillar

-- Install seat belt extraction panel. Refer to BELT EXTRACTION PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Procedure for All Vehicles

-- Draw the door seal lip over the D-pillar trim.

-- Install the roof panel trim. Refer to ROOF PANEL TRIM OVERVIEW .

-- Install the luggage compartment side trim. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL OVERVIEW .
