Roof Reinforcement, Vehicles Without Sunroof, Attaching To Body

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing

-- Remove headliner. Refer to HEADLINER OVERVIEW .

-- Carefully pull roof reinforcements -1- away from body roof beginning at rear.

NOTE:

If the roof reinforcement is damaged during removal, such as with tears or kinks, it must be replaced.

Installing Old Roof Reinforcement

-- Apply new adhesive between adhesive beads -3-.

-- Apply new adhesive near peripheral adhesive bead -2-.

Installing New Roof Reinforcement

-- Place adhesive bead -2- on roof reinforcement -1- at a distance of -a- from the outer edge as shown in the figure.

Dimension -a- = 25 mm all around

-- Apply adhesive beads -3- to roof reinforcement, approx. 10 lengthwise as shown in illustration.

All:

-- Position the roof reinforcement centered with respect to the outer sides and roof braces -4- to -7-.

Holes -arrows- must be in direction of travel on left side of vehicle.

-- Push roof reinforcement from inside onto body roof.

-- Install headliner. Refer to HEADLINER OVERVIEW .
