Rollover Protection, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow the safety precautions for the rollover protection. Refer to ROLLOVER PROTECTION .

-- Open the convertible top until the displayed position of the top and the convertible top compartment cover is reached.

-- Support the convertible top with a suitable wood rod.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY .

-- Remove the left and right rear headrests. Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right side cushions. Refer to SIDE CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the convertible top compartment front trim panel. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT FRONT TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right lock on the rear seat backrest. Refer to REAR SEAT BACKREST LOCK, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front luggage compartment floor. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR .

-- Remove the left and right luggage compartment side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right rear belt end fitting. Refer to REAR OUTER BELT END FITTING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the variable convertible top compartment enclosure. Refer to VARIABLE CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT ENCLOSURE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Left Rear Door Control Module -J388- / Right Rear Door Control Module -J389-. Refer to CENTRAL LOCKING .

-- Remove the Rear Parking Aid Warning Buzzer -H15-. Refer to PARKING AID .

-- Remove the left and right guide rails for the variable convertible top compartment enclosure. Refer to GUIDE RAIL FOR VARIABLE CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT ENCLOSURE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Open the release -arrow-, pull out the connector and disconnect the connectors on the left and right side of the rollover protection -1-.

-- Mark the installation position for the rollover protection as shown in the following illustrations:

Left and right front threaded connection on the side panel -arrow-.

WARNING:

Loosen only those bolts shown in the illustration.
Never remove the support plates from the rollover protection.

-- Remove the screws in sequence -5 to 1-.

-- Loosen the screw -6- only ¹ /₂ turn.

-- Remove the rollover protection from the vehicle with a second technician.
