- Always disconnect the voltage supply whenever working on the rollover protection.
- Make sure no one is standing near the rollover protection when reconnecting the battery. Stand at least one meter away.
- ALWAYS perform an output diagnostic test in "Guided Functions" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester after repairing any wires or connectors for the rollover protection.
- If the rollover protection was removed and reinstalled, or if a new rollover protection was installed, ALWAYS perform an output diagnostic test under "Guided Functions" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Perform the output diagnostic test only after all procedures have been completed.
- Before starting the output diagnostic test, the rollover support covers on the convertible top compartment cover must be unclipped and moved away from the rollover support deployment area.
- Always remove the rollover protection when performing any body repairs near the rollover protection.
- After servicing the body in the rollover protection area, check the body for welding spatter, deformations and chafe marks (compare with opposite side of vehicle if necessary).
- Always install rollover protection in the vehicle as soon as it is removed from the packaging (new part).
- An undeployed, locked rollover protection must have 1 to 2 mm downward play.
- Never leave rollover protection unattended.
- When removed, store the rollover protection lying down with the support plates facing up.
- The rollover protection may not be disassembled or repaired. Always use new parts.
- A rollover protection may not be reinstalled if it has fallen on a hard surface or if it shows any signs of damage.
- Do not perform any repair work on the convertible top compartment cover near or on the rollover protection cover.
- If the rollover protection had to be removed due to an accident, then the bolts for the rollover protection must be replaced.
